The Family of the Month Award is given each month to a council family whose contributions to the Church, council and community are above and beyond the norm and whose daily family life promotes the development and nurturing of the Catholic Family. This award is the council's way of saying, "Thank you for your efforts!" Family of the Month selection is based on nominations from fellow knights within the council.
Some criteria to consider when nominating a Family should be:
- Has the family made significant contributions to the Church, council and/or community?
- Does the family collectively exemplify in their daily lives the principles of Catholic life?
- Does the family pray and attend mass together?
The overarching criteria to consider when nominating a family is not if they are a super family, but more importantly, if they live and practice Catholic family values.
