Essay Contest

“How does the power of prayer play a role in your life today?”
This is the topic for this year's Knights of Columbus - Essay Contest. Essays will be accepted from youth in the following age/grade level groups:
- Level #1- Grades 6-7-8,
- Level #2- Grades 9-10-11-12
Submissions must also successfully meet the following guidelines:
- Essays must reflect the theme "How does the power of prayer play a role in your life today?"
- Essays must be submitted by Sunday, March 21, 2010.
- Essays must be the original work of the submitter.
- Essays must be between 300 and 600 words.
- Submitters name should appear only on the Entry Form (see below) which should be attached to /sent with the submission.
- All entries become the property of the Knights of Columbus and will not be returned.
- Essays may be submitted either electronically or typed on 8 1/2” x 11” paper, single-sided, double-spaced, with 1” margins.
Essays will be judged by a panel of three Knights, from Council 10963, with the highest scoring from each level winning advancing to the State Youth Director for judging in a state-wide contest. Council winners will have their essays posted here on the OSP Knights website as well be awarded a $50 gift certificate to Our Lady of Grace Bookstore in Ann Arbor.
Submissions can be attachmented, along with the Entry Form, to an email and sent to Essay.Contest@ospknights.com or, in an envelop, dropped off at the parish office. Please label the envelop or email submissions as "KofC Essay Contest Entry"
