Ave Maria Radio, the home of our own WDEO / 990AM, takes a break from its regular broadcast schedule twice each year to offer listeners an opportunity to participate in its apostolate by joining or renewing membership in the Ave Maria Communications Guild. The funds generated are necessary to keep programs like "Kresta in the Afternoon", "Catholic Connection with Teresa Tomeo", "Notes from Above" and many others on the air and distributed to over 150 stations across the country.
As individuals, we are encouraged to become members and support Ave Maria Radio.However, as members of the Knights of Columbus there is more that we can do to support their important work of evangelization over the airwaves! The twice annual Membership Drives, held each spring and fall, are only possible because of the gift of many volunteer hours. Council 10963 would like to see if we can get together enough Knights to cover Ave Maria Radio's bank of six telephones for a 2-hour shift or to perhaps cover at least one phone for an entire day or maybe the entire week of the drive. The next drive will be held September 20, 20010 through Friday September 24, 2010. If you have as little as an hour to volunteer to this worthwhile endeavor, please take to moment and fill out the online form: Ave Maria Membership Drive.
